Applications are
    OPEN

Applications will remain open at all times, until and unless volume makes a monthly cycle preferable.

  • Reserves are not required to apply a character, but do give the player priority for that character.
  • In the absence of reserves, applications are first-come first-served; we will not accept an application for a character who has already been applied by another person.
  • Applications should be posted on this page, with subject lines in the format of CHARACTER NAME | CANON | RESERVED/NOT RESERVED
  • You may link to your application or post it here. If you link to it, leave it visible while you are in the game.
  • You may apply two characters per application cycle.

    For the first week of applications only, characters who were in Diatu at the time of its previous closing may return by simple request. No reapplication is necessary.

    Name: Your character's full name. (If they do not use Western order, please use that order here and supply how it will commonly be written.)
    Canon: Your character's canon (or OC).
    Canon point: What canon point your character is taken from
    Age: Your character's age. (If helpful, you can separate out mental, physical, and chronological age -- for example, a long-lived species that only reaches human-teenage levels of development after a century.)

    Canon history: OC/malleable protagonist-only. For OCs, provide a brief background detail of your character's canon, sufficient to understand the context of your character and relevant setting terms. For malleable protagonists, list their important choices here (for easy reference of castmates).
    History: A summary of, or link to, your character's history in canon.
    CRAU History: For CRAUs only: give a brief history of important events and relationships in their previous setting.

    Personality: 4-6 bullet points focusing on the character's trait and its nuances

    Examples:

  • Absentminded: Headmaster Birony seems absent-minded to the point of being barely aware of her current location or actions. She’s been seen casting spells to find her hat when it’s on her head, has repeatedly attempted to move the ghosts of Makerion Keep into different buildings to ‘even out the hauntings’, and once accidentally transformed the Library of Starchime into a cheese wheel. Snide rumors circulate that her Thinking Spells are actually her own brain turned into magical energy, except former classmates of hers confirm a little grimly that no, she’s always been this way.

  • Diplomatic: Despite her everything, Headmaster Birony is a skilled diplomat who somehow manages to get everyone on a room onto the same page. Oftentimes this is a result of some incredibly nonlinear thinking or radical proposal, such as when she proposed Diatu Magicademy host the Sundered and teach them. As Court Wizard of Orian-Daven she dominated discussions seemingly by accident, proposing on more than one occasion to resolve a problem or dispute through magic no one else had even imagined.


    • CRAU Personality: CRAUs only: give as many bullet points as necessary to describe traits of the character that have changed as a result of previous RP and development. Here, we want to see what makes this CRAU different from a canon-fresh character.
